Update: We're now using Honda CRF 250L 2016 with Ohlins shocks, fuel controllers, aftermarket pipes, airbox modifications etc.
Great fun, take a look at the video:
Tour Dates 2017/201806.11.2017 - 11.11.2017 / 6 days
This is our standard 6-day enduro tour, and we can modify it according to the riding skills and preferences of the group.
For most routes we have a choice of trails with different levels of difficulty, and can make day-by-day decisions which trails to take.
Many groups have mixed riding skills and fitness levels. To make sure everybody is having fun, the faster riders can follow our lead rider and the slower guys ride with our sweep rider, who carries the heavy tools and spares.
In extreme cases we can split the group to keep everybody happy, but usually we try to stay together. If a rider wants to take it easy for a day or two, he can follow our 4WD truck on the tarmac road and do some sightseeing.
We need to change our routes and find new trails all the time, because every year we have over 50% repeat riders and they want to ride new trails.
No cancellations ever from our side - with 3 riders or less we'll include some survey riding to make it worth our time as well.
Duration: 6 days, 5 nights
Most riders find they spend less than 75 EUR / 100 USD while on tour.
6-day enduro tour features:
If your group is less then 7 riders, we try to match other riders or small groups within the same time frame. Please email us about our current tour schedule.
Every year we have at least 50% repeat riders, who have done previous tours with us, and we have to find new trails and routes all the time.
What makes it even more difficult is that everybody wants to spend 2 nights in Pai (with some excellent local riding on the day between), and that there are only 4 towns with good accommodation within a day's riding from Pai.
If you are looking for a tour for a whole group, here are some of our standard loops:
Chiang Mai - Mae Chaem - Mae Hong Son - Pai - Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai - Mae Chaem - Pai - Chiang Dao - Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai - Chiang Dao - Fang - Pai - Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai - Chae Son - Mae Suay - Chiang Dao - Pai - Chiang Mai.
If you are a single rider, or a small group of 2 or 3 riders, you'll probably have several of our repeat riders in the group and we'll be doing some of our newer routes / trails.
On local day rides in Pai area we can choose to a large degree how much and how easy / difficult we want to ride.
The other five days we have to sort of "get from A to B", but still have a choice of several routes. That way we can adjust the tour to different group riding skills, preferences and the dry / wet season.
Because there are only a few towns with good accommodation, we usually have to do some 10 - 40 km twisty tarmac mountain road section in the morning before the dirt starts, and then at the end of the day another 10 - 40 km road section to get to the destination.
Time-wise the dirt sections make up 70% to 90% of the day, depending on the route. However, road sections are usually also quite enjoyable (narrow mountain roads with lots of bends and hairpins).

Arrival in Chiang Mai
Our "base camp" Chiang Mai is a traditional (700 years old), but also modern town of about 500,000 people with plenty to see and to do.
We recommend arriving a day before the tour and departing the day after the tour, i.e. spending two extra nights. Accommodation in Chiang Mai is not expensive and it takes the stress out of the first and last tour days.
All Chiang Mai accommoation can be booked online.
On the first tour day we meet everybody in the morning at 0900 hours at their hotels and transfer to our house. You don't need to gear up at the hotel (in case you bring your own riding gear), as we have a guest bungalow where riders can change.
If any riders arrive in the morning by plane, we pick them up at the airport and transfer them to our house.
We are located 12 kms north of Chiang Mai town in a small Thai village, about 30 minutes drive from most town hotels and from the airport.
Riders can try our bikes right here on our property - we have a 90 metre dirt straight and a small trials garden for practice. We are also happy to help adjusting the bikes (handlebars, levers etc).
If you have some luggage that you don't need on tour, you can leave it at our house and pick it up upon return.
We load the luggage into our 4WD truck, and the driver will take it to the destination of the day.
On some tour days we can meet up with the truck at lunch time, but usually the truck takes the main road straight to the hotel.
Normally we have breakfast at 0800 hours and try to get going around 0900, as we have to pack all the luggage and check out of the hotel.
We try to arrive around 1700 hours (it gets dark just after 1800), and usually have dinner together. However, some riders don't want to eat dinner (lose weight) or some groups want to split because of Western/Thai food preferences, so it's up to the group really.
If some riders have to catch an afternoon flight on the last day, they can follow the truck to our house on the main road, take a shower and our driver will take them to the airport.
With riders who stay an extra night or have a late evening flight we can do a full last day, as usual with lots of trail choices.
Australian riders with their strict Australian customs controls are welcome to use our power washer to clean their boots and other riding gear from unwanted microorganisms.....
At the end of the day we'll deliver everybody to their hotels or to the airport, and hope they take good memories with them!
